Oregon's Amazing Miracle
The Near Death Experience of Thomas Welch
This is the incredible true story of Thomas M. Welch, who died in a horrific accident and saw hell with his own eyes. In 1924, at the age of 18, Welch was working at a lumber mill in Oregon when he fell 55 feet from a trestle into a pond below. He landed on his head and tumbled into the water, where he remained for nearly an hour before his body was recovered.
During that time, Welch was dead to the world but alive in the afterlife. He found himself standing near the shore of a "great ocean of fire" that he recognized as the biblical "lake which burneth with fire and brimstone." He saw people he knew who had died, all of whom looked bewildered and confused. The scene was so terrifying that Welch realized he would have done anything to avoid such a fate.
As he stood there, Jesus Christ appeared. Welch knew that Jesus was his only hope of escape, and he silently prayed that Jesus would see him. Just before Jesus passed out of sight, he turned and looked directly at Welch. In that instant, Welch was back in his body.
Welch was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for his injuries. He had a fractured skull and seven broken ribs. As he lay in the hospital bed, the Holy Spirit spoke to him, telling him to share his experience with the world. Welch was hesitant at first, but he eventually agreed.
On Friday morning, just four days after the accident, Welch was miraculously healed. He felt a warm sensation flow through his body, and all of his pain vanished. He got dressed and left the hospital without anyone noticing. He went to a friend's house, where he removed the stitches from his head himself. He was completely healed.
Welch kept his promise to God and began sharing his story with everyone who would listen. He preached about the reality of hell and the importance of accepting Jesus Christ as Savior.
